Our Story: A Play Space Built from a Mother's Vision

Monat was born from a simple but powerful realisation Lagos needed a children’s play space that truly understood families.

Founded by two moms who had spent years searching for a safe, stimulating, and genuinely welcoming place to bring their children, Monat is the space they wished had always existed. A place where children could be free. Where parents could breathe. Where learning and laughter happened together.

Today, Monat is one of Lagos’s most loved indoor activity centres for children from 6 months to 7 years proudly located in Lekki Phase 1 and serving families from across Lekki, Ikoyi, Victoria Island, and beyond.

Our Philosophy — Learning Through Play

At Monat, we are guided by the Montessori and Waldorf approaches to early childhood development two of the world’s most respected educational philosophies. Both share a deep belief: that children learn best when they are free to explore, create, and discover at their own pace.

This means our indoor play space is not designed for passive entertainment. It’s designed for active learning. Every climbing wall builds physical confidence. Every creative station sparks imagination. Every interaction with another child nurtures social intelligence. And every moment at Monat is a step in a child’s unique developmental journey.

We serve children aged 6 months to 7 years from babies discovering the world through sensory play, to energetic toddlers who need space to run and climb, to curious 4–7 year olds ready for structured creative challenges.

A Nurturing Environment for Children and Their Parents

We know that when parents are relaxed, children feel it. That’s why Monat is built for the whole family. While children play in our safe, supervised indoor zones, parents unwind at Spoontini — our in-house café serving gourmet coffee, healthy meals, and good conversation.

  • Age-specific play zones — from a cushioned baby area to toddler slides, climbing walls, and creative spaces
  • Montessori and Waldorf-informed design — every element has educational purpose
  • Clean, safe, and fully supervised at all times
  • Spoontini Café on-site — great food and coffee for parents
